The Football Family
What this site keeps about you, who can see it, and how to delete it.
What the site keeps
- Your account: your username, the name you show, your team, and your password, which is stored scrambled (nobody can read it, not even the League Manager). No email address or phone number is ever asked for.
- What you do in the league: lineups, adds, drops, claims, trades and offers, keepers, rankings, draft targets, your watch list and your mock drafts.
- What you write: Board posts, chat messages and photos, trade chats, feedback (with any screenshot, saved without its hidden data such as location), and ideas for league votes.
- From ESPN, while the league is there: each team's owner names and ESPN member numbers, for this season and every past one (League → History).
- Your devices: the kind of phone or computer and browser you use the site on and when you last opened it, and, if you turn on alerts, the address your phone gives the site for them. Your alert settings.
Who can see it
- Everyone in the league sees rosters, lineups, trades, the Board, the league chat and what the site posts about the league.
- Private team chats are only for your team and the other team in them, unless one of you reports a message: the League Managers then see that message. A team's chat history stays with the team if it gets a new manager.
- Trade chats are for the two teams; League Managers can read them too, since they review trades.
- League votes are anonymous: the site never shows anyone how a team voted, stores who voted apart from how, and leaves a vote out of every backup until it closes, so copies can't be compared to work it out.
- League Managers see feedback you send and the list of members and their devices, and can fix rosters and scores (every fix is logged). They can look at any team's Roster as its owner sees it, waiting claims and offers included, to help. They can make a password reset link for your account; you always get an alert when one is made, and using it signs you out everywhere.
Where copies go
- The site runs on a server rented from Google Cloud, which backs up the league's data every night (kept 14 days) and logs each visit (address and page) for 14 days to find problems. The person who runs the site keeps copies of those backups on their own computer to restore from, and a working copy there to test changes on before they go live. Backups keep what the site held when they were made, so something deleted leaves the server's backups within 14 days, and the copies on that computer as newer ones replace them.
- League history (past seasons, with owners' names) is also saved as a spreadsheet archive in the site owner's Apple iCloud Drive.
- Feedback you send is copied, with your team's name but not yours, into the site's private project on GitHub, so it can be fixed. Screenshots are not.
- The site reads player stats and news from Sleeper, ESPN and other football sources; it sends them nothing about you. GIF searches go to GIPHY. The Tabloid's cartoons are drawn by Cloudflare from a description with team names only.
Deleting your account
On My account, Delete my account removes your sign-in and everything private to you: your devices and alert registrations, alerts, alert settings, watch list, rankings, draft targets and college flags. What belongs to the league's record stays, shown as from "a former member": posts, chat messages, trades and moves. Your team stays in the league for its next manager. To have anything else removed, send Feedback or ask the League Manager.
